Fitipower FP6168 - 300mA low-noise, high-PSRR LDO regulator featuring 80dB PSRR, 65µVrms output noise, 160mV dropout, 10µA quiescent current, and a compact 1×1mm package for smartphones, Bluetooth headsets, GPS, wireless modules, wearables, and medical devices.

As smartphones, wireless communication modules, GPS devices, Bluetooth® products, and wearable medical equipment continue to become smaller and more highly integrated, their power architectures must provide stable voltage while addressing noise, battery life, and limited PCB space.

The Fitipower FP6168 is a low-dropout linear regulator capable of supplying up to 300mA of output current. Combining high power-supply rejection, low output noise, low quiescent current, and compact package options, the FP6168 is well suited for RF circuitry, wireless handheld devices, wearable electronics, and other battery-powered applications.

With a power-supply rejection ratio of up to 80dB at 1kHz and output noise of only 65μVrms, the FP6168 helps reduce the impact of supply noise on RF, positioning, sensing, and precision analog circuits, providing a cleaner power source for space-constrained electronic products.

Wireless communication and precision analog circuits can be highly sensitive to power-supply quality. Switching noise generated by DC/DC converters, processors, digital interfaces, and other system components may travel through the power rail and interfere with RF front ends, GPS receivers, Bluetooth® modules, or sensor circuits.

160mV Low Dropout Voltage Supports Longer Battery Runtime

 

he FP6168 features a low dropout voltage of 160mV, allowing it to maintain regulated output with a relatively small difference between the input and output voltages.

As battery voltage gradually decreases, this low-dropout characteristic enables the system to use more of the remaining battery capacity before the regulator falls out of regulation. It is particularly valuable for smartphones, wearable devices, portable medical equipment, wireless sensors, and other products where operating time is an important design consideration.

The device also features a low quiescent current of only 10μA, helping reduce power consumption during standby and light-load operation. For equipment that remains in sleep mode for extended periods or operates intermittently, this characteristic can contribute to longer battery life.

 

1mm × 1mm Package Frees Valuable PCB Space

The FP6168 is available in two package options:

● UTDFN-4L, measuring only 1mm × 1mm
● SOT-23-5L, suitable for conventional PCB assembly and product designs
The ultra-compact UTDFN-4L package minimizes the PCB area required by the power circuit, making it suitable for true wireless devices, wearable sensors, compact wireless modules, and other highly integrated portable products.

The FP6168 requires only a 1μF capacitor for stable operation, helping reduce the number and size of external components. This simplified design supports smaller, lighter, and more space-efficient electronic products.

 

300mA Output Capability for Wireless Modules and Sensor Circuits

The FP6168 supports an input voltage range from 1.9V to 5.5V and supplies a maximum output current of 300mA. This operating range allows the device to support a variety of battery-powered systems, portable electronics, and system power architectures.

Its internal architecture integrates current limiting, shutdown control, and thermal shutdown functions. These features help protect the regulator and downstream circuitry under abnormal load or elevated-temperature conditions.

By combining low dropout voltage, low quiescent current, and high PSRR, the FP6168 can be placed between the main power source and a noise-sensitive load to create a dedicated, low-noise power rail for RF modules, positioning ICs, sensors, and precision analog circuits.
